About This Spot

Stepping into Taqueria Las Palmas feels like entering a welcoming corner of Mexico nestled in the heart of Santa Rosa. The pace is easygoing but lively, filled with the subtle hum of conversation and the steady rhythm of orders being carefully prepared. It’s a space where locals gather—from families to longtime fans—sharing meals that bring a sense of comfort without any pretense.

The atmosphere here is unassuming yet warm, marked by the savory aromas drifting from the kitchen: the smoky hint of carnitas gently caramelizing, the fresh zest of pico de gallo, and a subtle kick from their bright habanero sauce. You’ll notice how the tortillas arrive soft and handmade, a simple foundation for each dish that speaks to tradition and care.

What makes the experience at Taqueria Las Palmas special is how food connects with the people around you. Whether you’re savoring tender carne asada or sampling the humble street tacos, the flavors are layered but genuine—reminding you that authentic Mexican cuisine is as much about heart and history as it is about ingredients. There’s a thoughtful balance between hearty portions and fresh accompaniments, inviting diners to linger and savor rather than rush.

From morning breakfasts bustling with generous burritos to the steady flow of lunchtime patrons drawn by familiar favorites, the taqueria thrives on a rhythm that’s both vibrant and grounded. It’s not just a meal—it’s a chance to partake in the everyday moments that make a neighborhood feel like home, shared through recipes passed down and brought to life with every order.

Enjoyed all the food! The carnitas were exceptional, very tender with a little char and no bits of gristle or chunks of fat. The asada and pastor were perfectly seasoned but it was a little odd that they use ground beef and ground pork for these. The flavor was so good I didn’t care. Fresh soft tortillas and nice pico de gallo. Burrito was great as well. They give you two types of red salsa, both very tasty but not very spicy. Tip: upon request, they gave me a little mouth burning habanero sauce which really brought everything together. Be warned that a tiny amount goes a long way!

I had chilaquiles for the first time in my life and it made me doubt what I have been eating in my whole life. It was SO good. I have never been a fan of beans, but for the first time, I enjoyed beans on food. Bravo!

I wish I would’ve taken photos of my food but the aroma that filled my car as I was driving home was irresistible! I’m from LA and I know tacos.. this is really one of the very few places that I will eat tacos in SoCo!! The generous portions, fresh tasty ingredients, excellent service keep me coming back time and time again! Not to mention it’s affordable! I love this place!

Taqueria Las Palmas is a family owned restaurant in Santa Rosa and has incredible authentic Mexican Food. This was our first time at this restaurant, although you can tell that it is a popular local restaurant by the constant steam of people that we saw come in while we ate there. They have plenty of seating if you are looking to dine in and there was a mix of people dining in and those getting food to go. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and everyone that works there is so friendly. We felt warmly welcomed! The food is flavorful and the portions are generous. They have high quality ingredients. Both my husband and I absolutely loved our meals. I got the veggie burrito and it was so fresh and delicious! The service was fast and our food came out quickly. Highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be coming back!

I tried them twice this time before reviewing. Both times really good, I got the super burrito with steak the first time and my mom got 2 tacos also really good. The second time I got the bacon breakfast burrito, it was packed with bacon and the potatoes where cooked perfectly. My mom got a chimichanga it was big, cooked nice and crispy. There salsa is really good its like a pico de gallo mix but not hot just really tasty. This place is a total recommend. Ill eat here again soon

One of the best burritos I’ve had in Sonoma County. Everything was fresh and the chicken tasted like it just came off the grill and had a bbq char to it. I rarely get that at any taquerias. Service was friendly and quick. Oh and the chips were actually salted and good!

The taqueria of your dreams! They do all the little things that make food great, not just good .... Carnitas is juicy but not fatty, with a little char. Chorizo is high quality. Sauces are complex. Eggs are cooked perfectly in your huevos. Flan that's carmelized and rich, not rubbery. Beans that melt in your mouth without being gluey. I would eat here every day if I could. Bonus: Super nice people and great service!

I've been exploring taquerias since I moved to Santa Rosa and this was a gem. Cozy atmosphere, kind staff and fantastic food. I tried the carne asada super burrito and it was absolutely delicious. Very flavorful and filling, and quite reminiscent of my favorites in Clearlake. I'll definitely be back for an array of tacos next time.
